Stendhal syndrome

March 3, 2010

The Literature Faculty was having its annual “Come as your favourite book” costume party. When Charlotte and Jemima arrived the room was already heaving with students sporting stick-on beards, tinfoil and egg cartons.
“Oh, now, girls, I wasn’t expecting you to abandon your customary elegance but I had hoped you might make an effort at some kind of costumes.”
“But, Professor Woodcourt, we DID come in costume.”
“You did?”
“Yes, as a double act. We represent a masterpiece by one of the earliest and foremost practitioners of Realism- Stendhal”
“Of course! ‘The Scarlet and Black’. Le Rouge et le Noir! How clever, girls! We’ll call that a Pass with Honours, shall we?…”

A smattering of new patterns are up in the store– as ever, click the pic for the listing!
