Little Misses Sunshine

January 8, 2010

“So, Mindy, viewers at home should do these simple exercises every day for a noticeable reduction in weight?”
“And IQ, Cindy! Yes, and the beauty is that you can do them anywhere!”
“So….when you’re standing in line at the supermarket checkout, think twirl, twirl, point and….. FLEX!”
“And when you’re waiting for that bus, remember- hands on hips, arch, and… jut right, jut left… and right again!”
“And that’s all we have time for today. Keep smiling, Mindy!”
“Keep smiling, Cindy! See you next time, viewers!”

Aren’t these two just the perkiest pattern illustrations you’ve ever seen? And with good reason- even their pattern description is a riot of sunbursts, ribbon trims and buttons and bows: “Two silhouettes… the cluster pleated bouffant or the slim “relaxed” line, each with a high scooped “sunburst” bodice. (A) Short sleeved bouffant with contrast ribbon bow. (B) Three quarter sleeved slim version with ribbon trim and bow.”

However, all this adds up to what looks to me like quite a wearable dress- with what I like to think of as Just Enough Interest. (I’m not sure though whether I think of myself though as a cluster pleated bouffant or a slim relaxed line. After Christmas, probably more bouffant…)

Yup, you’ve guessed it- the Etsy pattern store is back online!  :)

Just wanted to say that I have FINALLY started a pair of sox for my sil in your Charybdis pattern, and I am enjoying the process AND product immensely. I love the name, the variation, the ease of remembering, the cliff and the whirlpool. . . everything! Thanks!

    (And happy 2010)
