Chauffeur’s daughter dress
This was one of Edith Head’s contributions to the film. It is the first dress we see Sabrina wear, and the only outfit she wears before leaving for Paris. It appears to be a cotton dress with a wide boat neck, worn over a simple long sleeved black top, presumably made from some kind of knit fabric.
The front:
The back. Is there a zipper running down the centre back? The skirt is fairly full, but by no means a circle skirt. It looks as if the front skirt piece may be cut on the grain, and the back part on the bias. Does the back bodice have a basque back (ie. it extends down and comes to a point in the centre back)?
Close up of the fabric, not dots, as it seems from a distance, but a sort of plaid composed of dots.
