Batik central

There’s been torrential rain here for days. And hailstones. The kind of hailstones that set car alarms off in the street outside. But this morning a ray of sunshine arrived with the postman- hand batiked napkins that I ordered from the very talented margotbianca. Hurrah! (Clicking on any of the pics will take you to Margot’s Etsy store.)
There’s a set of four napkins with bamboo leaves (above) and four with cherryblossoms on (below). (They are all the same blue so they coordinate, although they don’t look it in the pics).
The napkins were a custom order to match our crockery, which is blue and white; Margot was incredibly helpful and friendly throughout the whole process and I’m thrilled with the results. I first came across her store back in March when I fell in love with this scarf:
When it arrived it was even more gorgeous in person than it was on the screen and beautifully wrapped with a little note:
I’m a relative latecomer to the whole Etsy thang. It’s taken me a while to understand how it works and discover how to get search results in tens rather than in hundreds. Although of course just browsing is fun too. What a lot of very talented people there are out there :)

What lovely napkins! And that is a beautiful scarf, lucky you.
These are quite lovely!
I’ve got a real thing for batik at the moment and that print on scarf is gorgeous. I bet its soft and floaty in real life.
Really beautiful scarf! batik looks very nice
